Sasha Cohen O’Connell - Section Chief, Office of National Policy

Sasha Cohen O’Connell currently serves as the section chief of the Office of National Policy for the FBI’s deputy director. In this position, she is responsible for the overall coordination and prioritization of FBI interagency policy.

Prior to leading the Office of National Policy, Ms. O’Connell served as chief of the executive staff for the FBI’s Criminal Investigative Division. In this position, she was responsible for strategic planning, performance evaluation, training, and communications for the Bureau’s Violent Crime, Financial Crime, and Public Corruption programs, among others.

Ms. O’Connell has more than 15 years’ experience in program development, implementation, public policy, and performance management in the government and non-profit sectors. Ms. O’Connell has also served as an assistant dean at the School of Continuing Education at Northeastern University, and was the co-founder/managing Director of the Partnering for Prevention and Community Safety Initiative at Northeastern.

Ms. O’Connell holds a Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College as well as a doctorate in public administration from American University.
