Monique A. Bookstein – Ombudsman, Office of the Ombudsman

Monique A. Bookstein is a 22-year veteran of the FBI and was named the FBI’s ombudsman by the Director Robert S. Mueller in August 2010.

Monique entered on duty in 1988 and has held a variety of operations and professional staff positions within the Records Management, Laboratory, and Counterterrorism Divisions, as well as the Office of Public and Congressional Affairs and the Office of the General Counsel. She came to the Ombudsman’s Office in September 2009 as an associate organizational ombudsman and has served as acting ombudsman since December 2009.

“Her compassion and extensive knowledge of the FBI make her the right choice to successfully lead this office,” said Director Mueller. “I look forward to working with and supporting Monique’s efforts in helping us with resolutions of work-related questions and concerns raised by all levels of management and staff.”

Monique holds a degree from the University of Maryland and is a member in good standing with the International Ombudsman Association.
