This figure depicts the imaging pipeline for a digital camera. Light from the scene, of a sculpture outside the front of an office building (first image from the left), enters the camera through a lens (second image from the left) and passes through a set of filters (third image from the left), including an antialiasing filter. The light is captured by a sensor (not shown). To capture color information, the light passes through a color filter array (fourth image from the left). Next, white-point correction and gamma correction are performed (fifth image from the left). Image is written into the camera memory in a user-specified image format (final image matches the scene of the first image).
