Arrests, Persons Under 15, 18, 21, and 25 Years of Age, 2017

  • In 2017, individuals under the age of 25 accounted for 30.8 percent of all arrestees.
  • Individuals under the age of 25 comprised 33.9 percent of all persons arrested for violent crimes and 36.7 percent of all persons arrested for property crimes.
  • In 2017, 41.6 percent of all persons arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter were under the age of 25.
  • Of all persons arrested for robbery, 54.5 percent were under the age of 25. More than 20 percent (20.6) of persons arrested for robbery were juveniles (individuals under age 18).
  • Persons under the age of 25 accounted for 40.5 percent of all persons arrested for burglary in 2017. Juveniles accounted for 15.5 percent of persons arrested for burglary.
  • Arrests of persons under the age of 21 accounted for 19.3 percent of drug abuse violations.
