- Law enforcement agencies in in the South had a rate of 2.6 full-time law enforcement officers per 1,000 inhabitants.
- In the Northeast, the rate of full-time law enforcement officers per 1,000 residents was 2.5.
- In cities in the Midwest, the rate of full-time law enforcement officers per 1,000 residents was 1.9.
- The rate of full-time law enforcement officers per 1,000 inhabitants was 1.6 in cities in the West.
