Arrests, Persons Under 15, 18, 21, and 25 Years of Age, 2013

  • In 2013, individuals under the age of 25 accounted for 37.5 percent of all arrestees.
  • Individuals under the age of 25 comprised 38.8 percent of all persons arrested for violent crimes and 45.3 percent of all persons arrested for property crimes.
  • In 2013, 46.6 percent of all persons arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter were under the age of 25.
  • Of all persons arrested for robbery, 59.6 were under the age of 25. More than 20 percent (20.2) of persons arrested for robbery were juveniles.
  • Persons under the age of 25 accounted for 49.8 percent of all persons arrested for burglary in 2013. Juveniles accounted for 17.1 percent of persons arrested for burglary.
  • Arrests of persons under the age of 21 accounted for 23.7 percent of drug abuse violations.
