Arrests, Persons Under 15, 18, 21, and 25 Years of Age, 2012

  • In 2012, individuals under the age of 25 accounted for 39.5 percent of all arrestees.
  • Individuals under the age of 25 comprised 40.2 percent of all persons arrested for violent crimes and 48.1 percent of all persons arrested for property crimes.
  • In 2012, 45.8 percent of all persons arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter were under the age of 25.
  • Of all persons arrested for robbery, 60.4 were under the age of 25. Persons under the age of 18 accounted for 20.6 percent of persons arrested for robbery.
  • Persons under the age of 25 accounted for 52.9 percent of all persons arrested for burglary in 2012. Persons under the age of 18 accounted for 19.1 percent of persons arrested for burglary.
  • Arrests of persons under the age of 21 accounted for 25.8 percent of drug abuse violations.
