Clearance Figure

This figure shows the percentage of violent and property crimes cleared by arrest or exceptional means in 2011. Among violent crimes, the individual offenses and their respective clearance percentages are murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, 64.8 percent; forcible rape, 41.2 percent; robbery, 28.7 percent; and aggravated assault, 56.9 percent. Of property crimes, the individual offenses and their respective clearance percentages are burglary, 12.7; larceny-theft, 21.5 percent; and motor vehicle theft, 11.9 percent.
